Tiling for vets, kennels and animal care
Tough, wipe-clean surfaces that stand up to hosing down, disinfectant and plenty of paws.
Overview
Animal care buildings are cleaned more often and more aggressively than almost anywhere else. Floors and walls need to cope with water, strong disinfectants and claws, and dry quickly and safely afterwards.
We tile veterinary practices, kennels, catteries, dog day care centres and grooming parlours, from wash-down bays and kennel runs to consulting rooms and receptions.
What we tile
- Kennel runs and wash-down areas
- Grooming and bathing rooms
- Veterinary consulting and prep rooms
- Receptions and waiting areas
- Wall tiling to splash height and above
- Repairs and regrouting of worn joints
What matters
Chemical-resistant joints
Daily disinfectant and hosing break down ordinary grout. Epoxy grout resists chemicals and water and doesn't hold odours the way porous joints can.
Floors that drain
Wash-down areas work best when the floor falls towards a drain, so water doesn't sit on the surface.
Grip for people and animals
A slip-resistant tile helps staff and animals keep their footing when the floor is wet.
Easy-clean walls
Tiling walls to a good height protects them from splashes, scratches and constant cleaning.
How we work on site
- We keep dust down with vacuums and dust extractors and clean up as we go.
- We protect finished work and surrounding areas, and leave the site clean and tidy every day.
- We work evenings, nights and weekends when a programme or opening hours call for it.
- Both of us are enhanced DBS checked, hold CSCS cards and are trained in COSHH, manual handling, abrasive wheels and asbestos and silica awareness.
- Risk assessments, method statements and COSHH information are available on request.

Common questions
What grout should we use in kennels?
Epoxy grout is usually the best choice. It resists disinfectants and water and stops urine and odours soaking into the joints.
Can you work around opening hours?
Yes. We can work in sections, out of hours or at weekends so you can keep caring for animals while the work is done.
Can you fix existing tiles rather than replace everything?
Often, yes. Cracked tiles can be replaced and failed joints regrouted, which costs far less than a full retile.
