Tiling for restaurants, cafés and bars

Kitchens that are safe and easy to clean, and front-of-house tiling that looks the part.

Overview

Restaurants need two things from their tiling: kitchens that stay safe when they're wet and greasy and pass hygiene inspections, and dining areas and washrooms that look good every day.

We tile commercial kitchens, dining areas, bars, washrooms and entrances in restaurants, cafés, pubs, takeaways and canteens.

What we tile

  • Commercial kitchen floors and walls
  • Coved skirting for easy cleaning
  • Bars and counters
  • Customer washrooms
  • Dining areas and entrances
  • Regrouting tired kitchen floors

What matters

Grease and water

Kitchen floors need a high slip resistance. Quarry tiles and anti-slip porcelain both work well.

Hygienic joints

Epoxy grout resists fats, acids and cleaning chemicals, so joints stay clean and sealed.

Minimal downtime

We can work overnight or between services so you lose as little trading time as possible.

Front of house

Decorative floors, feature walls and mosaics can set the tone of a restaurant. We fit them with careful setting out.

How we work on site

  • We keep dust down with vacuums and dust extractors and clean up as we go.
  • We protect finished work and surrounding areas, and leave the site clean and tidy every day.
  • We work evenings, nights and weekends when a programme or opening hours call for it.
  • Both of us are enhanced DBS checked, hold CSCS cards and are trained in COSHH, manual handling, abrasive wheels and asbestos and silica awareness.
  • Risk assessments, method statements and COSHH information are available on request.

Common questions

Can you work when we're closed?

Yes. We can work overnight, early mornings or on closed days.

Can you regrout an existing kitchen floor?

Often, yes. If the tiles are sound, removing the old grout and regrouting with epoxy can transform a kitchen floor for far less than a retile.

Which tile is best for a commercial kitchen?

Usually an anti-slip porcelain or quarry tile rated around R11 to R13, with epoxy grout. We'll help you pick the right one for how the kitchen is used.
